Support Groups for Parents

Family Member Support Groups

Having a child with special needs can be an isolating experience.  Each parent approaches their situation in their own unique way.  Finding the support and understanding of other parents who have walked in  your shoes can provide comfort and connection.

Group Information:

Down Syndrome Parent Support Group

This group provides parents with the opportunity to discuss issues of importance to families, such as coping with the diagnosis of Down syndrome, and dealing with family members, friends and the community. Questions regarding medical concerns and developmental milestones are answered as well. Parents share ideas, parenting successes and community resources that have been helpful. The group meets periodically throughout the school year.

If you would like to be added to the mailing list for any of the groups, please call 732-747-5310, ext. 117 or email Sue Levine at info@frainc.org.
