Imelda is an Employment Specialist who comes to FRA with over 25 years of experience in supporting individuals. She started her career while she was in high school as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s School for the Blind in Jersey City where she was eventually hired as a full time staff and progressed as an Assistant Child Care Director. She continued her career in the field working in different settings at Access, serving deaf and hard of hearing individuals, where she worked in the group home as a Case Manager. After many years of working in a residential setting, she continued her career as an Employment Specialist/Job Coach at Bridges to Employment and Lifework. Most recently, she worked as a Group Home Manager at Community Options, Inc and Rescare. Imelda is trilingual and is fluent in American Sign Language. She is currently working on her degree in American Sign Language Interpreting. She lives with her husband and 3 children in Monmouth County. On her free time, she enjoys taking pictures and going to the beach.
