Phillip Duck, MA
Prior to coming to FRA, Phillip worked for a number of years in the Fair Haven school district. Before that, he used his business degree from Monmouth University in the capacity of District Manager for Shell Oil. Since moving to the field of education, Phillip has completed a master’s degree in Special Education from New Jersey City University. As an educator, he is inspired by the words of Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Phillip took this mantra to heart, doing his best to arm his students with the necessary knowledge to become productive members of society. Most recently, Phillip became deeply involved with supporting people with disAbilities in finding and keeping jobs in integrated, inclusive settings. In 2018 Phillip took on the role of Co-Director for FRA’s newest division, EmployAbility. To prepare for this crucial role, Phillip achieved ACRE (Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators) certification through Virginia Commonwealth University and also training through the Elizabeth M. Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities. Phillip lives in Red Bank with his family. In his free time, he’s either watching one of his favorite television shows ("Queen Sugar", "Snowfall", "Power"), playing fantasy football and basketball, writing, or reading a hardboiled crime novel.
