OUT OF SCHOOL?
WHAT’S NEXT ON YOUR HORIZON?

HAVE LOTS FUN AND LEARN TOO!

Take one or all of our new and exciting 6 week classes!

Prior computer skills are not necessary. Basic computer skills will be taught during each class activity. Everyone works at their own pace.

Classes meet weekly on Wednesdays (Fridays in the Summer) for two hours, with Morning and Afternoon sessions offering different classes, and are taught by Special Educators and Assistive Technology Specialists to offer a variety of activities for every session!  Come and stay for the day!

Minimum of 4 registrants per class required. SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE! Call for details.

10AM - Noon
Amazing Stories--
Enjoy stories and adventures from our large library of electronic books that the computer can read to you or read them yourself. Talk with classmates about the story, act out your favorite part of the story, or write a book report. Many books are available based upon reading level and interests.
1 - 3PM
Picture This--
Learn how to scan your favorite pictures into the computer and create family photo calendars, scrapbooks or greeting cards. Learn how to use a digital camera. Find the many ways photos can be stored and shared, use on-line albums and print them out for special projects.

How much do you really know about animals? Where do they live? What do they eat? Let’s go on a virtual Safari and find out more!

Let’s Go Surfing--
How do I find things on the Internet? How do I stay safe? Learn how to surf the internet and recognize ads and scams. Find fun things or information.

Where Did My Money Go--
Learn everyday money skills using computer software, board games, simulated shopping and games like the “Price is Right”! Practice making change or writing a check and learn basic banking. Master simple budgeting.

People to Meet--
Meet the stars! Find out about your favorite movie, sports and singing stars. Keep a log of their current activities, where they live, where they go for fun, who they hang with, where they grew up, and who they were before they were stars!

Games to Play--
Enjoy exciting computer games. Play many fun word games in a group or alone and enjoy it at your own pace. Build vocabulary, eye-hand coordination and memory skills. Try your skills by playing fun games such as pool, racing and bowling. Learn to play against the computer as well.

Places to Go--
Travel the world and see the sights right on the Internet. Learn about different countries, cultures, music and taste the food. Create a passport memory album and a recipe book from your travel!

Let’s Get Creative--Create labels, business cards, letterhead, note cards, greeting cards and picture calendars. Learn how to package these products for gifts or to sell them at local fairs, flea markets, church or to family members. Tips on how to use these skills for an at- home business.

Now Showing--
Create movies and slide shows using cool software while increasing language, reading and organizing skills. Everyone will create a show at their own pace. Can’t read?...that’s okay; create your ideas and write using pictures and let the computer help you out.

LIFE SKILLS ’N LUNCH !
Noon - 1:00

During this one hour weekly lunch class, independence is the focus! Life skills such as food preparation, menu planning, item cost and cleanup are taught by the staff.
Limited class: Available ONLY to half or full day registrants.
Food is included.
